1、“千手觀音”，又稱千手千眼觀世音菩薩。據佛教典籍記載，千手觀音的千手表示遍護眾生，千眼則表示遍觀世間。千手觀音塑像以四十二手象征千手，每一手心各有一眼。除了菩薩胸前合十的兩手外，左右各塑二十只手，各持刀、槍、拂塵、傘、鏡和凈瓶等各種神通廣大的法器，另外手中各有一眼，為四十二臂四十二眼。在佛教看來，只要虔誠地信奉千手觀音，就有“息災”，“增益”，“敬愛”，“降伏”等四大好處。

1. "Thousand-Hand Guanyin", also known as thousand-hand thousand-eye Guanyin. According to Buddhist ancient books, the thousand-hand means protecting all living creatures, and the thousand-eye means observing the whole world. Thousand-Hand Guanyin statue has forty-two hands with en eye on each hand representing thousand hands. Besides the two hands in front of the chest, there are twenty hands in each side holding knife, gun, horsetail whisk, mirror, bottle and other omnipotent implements; and each hand has an eye, which are forty-two arms and forty-two eyes. Buddhism believes embracing Thousand-Hand Guanyin religiously can get "remove disaster", "gain benefit", "respect" and "subdue". 

2、菩提樹，桑科榕屬植物，別稱神圣的無花果。“菩提”一詞為古印度語Bodhi的音譯，意思是覺悟、智慧。佛教一直都視菩提樹為圣樹。相傳，釋迦牟尼佛在菩提樹下打坐修道時，菩提樹神便以樹葉為釋迦佛擋風遮雨，保護他安心修道。菩提樹神被認為是佛教最早的護法神，守護和平，帶來福氣。

2. Bodhi tree, moraceae ficus plant, also known as sacred fig. "Bodhi" comes from ancient Hindi, which means consicousness and wisdom. Buddhism always regard Bodhi tree as the holy tree. According to legend , when Buddha Shakyamuni sat in meditation under Bodhi tree, the tree god used leaves to shelter him from the storm so that Bodhi tree god was considered as the earliest Dharma Protector of Buddhism to keep peace and to bring good fortune. 

3、創作者：甘信一      甘信一老師，一個用生命追逐的藝術家，一個在窮山惡水沉思創作的人。其創作主要分為：動物、抽象、禪、大地、人物、椅子和人間等八個系列。他以簡單的素材釋放無限滋生的創作源泉，熟練運用銅、石頭和漂流木的元素特質，形成其獨特的創作理念。

3. Originator: Gan Xinyi   Mr. Gan Xinyi, using lifetime pursuing the ultimate art, ponders and creates in barren. His creations divided in eight series: animals, abstraction, Buddhist, earth, character, chair and man's world. He uses simple materials to release infinite breeding creative source applying element characteristics of copper, stone and flood wood to form the unique creative ideas.        

甘信一老師曾說過“藝術是活的，是要能感慨，創作不是要去理解。創作是一種意境，要把創作放在人生生活的一體。把感受傳遞出去才是創作的力量”這是他一生的創作所追求。    

Mr. Gan Xinyi said:" the art is live which need to be felt rather than be understood. Creation is an artistic conception, and should put it with life and living. Passing the feelings out is the power of creation." This is the creation which he pursues from life. 

4、本作品采用“廣州灰塑”傳統材料雕、塑而成，具備了繪畫和雕塑的兩種藝術形式，這是其他藝術表現形式所不具備的；作品運用現代題材的創意和傳統灰塑的純手工制作工序和技法，層次豐富，內容生動形象，立體感強，充分展示出荷花“出淤泥而不染，濯清漣而不妖”的高貴品質。荷花是中國的傳統名花，在人們心目中是真善美的化身、吉祥豐興的預兆，是佛教中神圣凈潔的名物，也是友誼的種子；此外，它在埃及也被稱作代表和平的友誼之花。《秋荷》的美在于它孕育著希望，生的力量在枯萎中孕育，預示著生生不息、代代相傳。
